The von Helms Show features conversations with ordinary people who have experienced extraordinary things

CHARLOTTE, NC — Popular speaker and bestselling author Dr. Todd von Helms announces the release of his new podcast, The von Helms Show, where he interviews an eclectic array of guests, ranging from actors, musicians, artists, college and professional athletes, ministers, coaches, and many other ordinary people who have done and experienced extraordinary things throughout their respective journeys. Each guest talks about childhood influences, religious views, ways in which they have overcome adversity, what they find most important in life, and what goals and dreams may still be on the horizon.

The first two episodes, released this week, are:

Episode #1 Summary: Thomas Hash (Title: Cancer, Coach K, and Dogs in Heaven)
Todd sits down inside the famous Cameron Indoor Stadium at Duke University to interview teenager Thomas Hash, who talks about his courageous battle with brain cancer, how many organizations, celebrities, doctors, nurses, friends, family, and strangers have rallied around him and shows us what it means to believe in God, the power of prayer, and importance of community.

Episode #2 Summary: Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik (Title: The Importance of Rest and Religious Freedom for all)
Todd sits down with Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik, who serves as the rabbi of the oldest Jewish congregation in the United States, located on the upper west side of Manhattan. Soloveichik is a prolific writer, has a PhD in New Testament studies from Princeton University, serves on the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom, and is quite the joker and storyteller. Differences matter, but not near as much as what people have in common.  Amid our overly busy and sometimes polarized culture, Todd and the Rabbi discuss how Shabbat (rest) and religious freedom for all people promote human flourishing.

Todd cares deeply about helping people discover their path spiritually, and how faith can inform their vocation and lead to human flourishing.  With degrees from Duke University, SMU, the University of Texas, and several other institutions, Todd has enjoyed teaching spiritual formation and the History of Christianity for nearly twenty years, while also speaking weekly in a variety of contexts ranging from college campuses to CEO groups, Leadership Forums, churches, high schools, and 12-step programs.

“Everyone is on a journey,” says von Helms. “I love nothing more than to meet people where they are and help them develop a deeper love for God and others.”
