Jerusalem (September 15, 2023) — For the first time ever, an armed guard will be stationed at every single synagogue in Jerusalem as part of the preparations for the upcoming High Holy Days.
This is due to a recent wave of terror attacks. About 50 attacks have been attempted in Jerusalem alone this year, 19 resulted in damage, injury, or loss of life. Across Israel there have been many more.
Rosh Hashanah begins this evening and goes through Sunday.
On Tuesday, two men were injured in a terrorist shooting. Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, arrived on the scene to find their vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Thankfully and miraculously, the men were unharmed by the gunfire directly, but they were wounded by shrapnel.
Magen David Adom is on high alert, preparing for any emergency and attack that may
occur in Israel.
Uri Shacham, Magen David Adom Chief of Staff, and Yoni Yagodovsky, Director of International Relations, are available to speak about the current situation in Israel and Magen David Adom’s preparations for this important time in the Jewish calendar.
They are not able to speak into public policy questions, but about the general state of affairs on the ground and their ability to respond.
To schedule an interview with Uri or Yoni, email Clem Boyd at clem@infinityconcepts.com or call or text him at 724.930.4003.
