Jan 5, 2024

“This Is the Second Most Important Film I’ve Done Behind PASSION OF THE CHRIST” —Jim Caviezel

IRWIN, PA – On Friday, January 26, 2024, the film SOUND OF FREEDOM will be shown at no cost at The Lamp Theatre in Irwin, PA. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with an informational introduction video at 7:30 p.m. by Rooted Outreach and Hope Remanes. These two Westmoreland County non-profit organizations offer education, resources and hope to those affected by human trafficking. The film will begin at 8:00 p.m.

SOUND OF FREEDOM is based on the incredible true story of a federal agent, Tim Ballard. After the rescue of a young boy from a sex trafficking ring, Ballard that learns a young boy’s sister is still in the hands of ruthless child traffickers. He decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.

SOUND OF FREEDOM stars Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ). The film is respectful and honest, taking the viewer into the real world of one of the most under publicized crimes facing the world today; human trafficking.

Every 30 seconds another person is sold into human trafficking. The average victim age is 12 and once victims are entered into this kind of lifestyle, they only have a 1-2% chance of ever being rescued. Victims are tricked into the lifestyle, it is not a choice. Children and teens are often lured by a romantic partner or false job offer. Ninety one percent of sexual assault victims are female and every nine minutes a child is sexually assaulted.

Rooted Outreach’s mission is to bring awareness on human trafficking, sexual abuse & assault and homelessness. We train individuals to thrive through education, prevention and community outreach.

Hope Remanes connects children and adults with rescued horses to discover hope and to heal from trauma linked to abuse and other emotional pain. Our community-driven volunteer mentors have the honor of working with people of all ages who suffer throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Free tickets will be available at The Lamp Theatre box office the night of the show on a first come, first serve basis. The Lamp Theatre is located at 222 Main Street in Irwin, Pennsylvania. The evening is being sponsored by Brinko Tree Service, Biondi Lincoln of Monroeville, Rive Nail and Skin Care Spa, and Rupp-Fiore Insurance Company. Freewill donations for Rooted Outreach and Hope Remanes will be accepted and a gift basket raffle will also take place.
