CHICAGO, ILL — Moody Publishers is pleased to announce the release of Who Owns the Land?: An In-Depth Look at the Truth Behind the Middle East Conflict, an Updated and Revised Edition on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. In the book, Dr. Charles Dyer responds to the question that is being asked by Christ-following believers AND non-believers, of who owns the land in Israel. The conversations about the conflict in the Middle East can be heated and fraught with tension. There are accusations. Anger. And pain. Who is at fault?
Who Owns the Land? traces the journey of the Jewish people through history and explains the events that have led to the current situation in the Middle East today. This revised and updated version of Dr. Stanley Ellisen’s bestselling book examines the numerous Jewish migrations and expulsions, the emergence of Zionism, World War II, and the Holocaust, and a view of the Jews’ promised restoration.
Most helpfully, Dyer provides insight and knowledge behind the Arab-Israeli conflict and offers a biblical perspective on the recent events, including the war that was launched against Israel on October 7, 2023. He helps readers place the current Middle East conflict in its proper historical context and enables us to interpret current events in light of the Bible.
“Many books have tried to explain the current crisis in the Middle East. Few have ever done so with the depth of wisdom and insight displayed by Dr. Stanley Ellisen. When the book went out of print, that wisdom was lost to all but the fortunate who stumbled on the work in school libraries or secondhand bookstores. Three decades have now passed since Dr. Ellisen’s original work—and two decades since my first update and revision. Much has happened during that time. This volume is an attempt to update the work to have it align with current events and to make it both accessible and relevant to a new generation struggling to understand the essence of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians,” says Dyer.
DR. CHARLIE DYER served for thirty-three years on the faculty and in the administration of three different institutions, including twenty years at Dallas Theological Seminary and ten years as Provost of the Moody Bible Institute. In 2010, Charlie became Professor-at-Large of Bible for Moody Bible Institute and host of The Land and the Book radio program, which is heard on more than 350 stations across the United States. For much of his time in ministry, Charlie has taken groups to Israel and the other lands of the Bible.
